BUIES CREEK — Right-handed pitcher
David Rossow earned his first Coastal Athletic Association weekly award after being named Co-Pitcher of the Week as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.
Rossow picked up his CAA-best seventh win (7-1) of the season in Saturday's 7-3 win over UNCW.
He fired a career-long 8.0 innings, allowing one run on four hits and tallied 11 strikeouts. The 11 strikeouts marked the second most of the season for the redshirt senior.
The right-hander didn't allow a runner past second base through six frames before giving up a solo homer in the 7th. He struck out at least one batter in seven of eight innings.
Rossow did not allow a walk in the contest and held opponents to a .148 average after retiring 22 of the 27 batters faced.
