BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell softball team hits the road for its final nonconference road game of the 2026 regular season in Conway, S.C. against Coastal Carolina. First pitch is set for Tuesday, April 7 at 5 p.m.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Coastal Carolina enters with a 20-19 overall record and a 6-6 mark in Sun Belt play. The Chanticleers are coming off a conference series win over Georgia State, taking the first two games before dropping the finale. In 2025, Coastal Carolina won the Sun Belt Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2012.
The Chanticleers are led by coach Kelley Green in her 17th season. Junior shortstop Brie Normandin leads the team with a .387 batting average and 43 hits. Fifth-year first baseman Georgia Hood, a preseason All-Sun Belt selection, leads the team with 42 RBIs, a 1.164 OPS and a .725 slugging percentage. In the circle, junior Kate Ryan owns a team-best 3.79 ERA. Junior Abby Henderson leads the staff with 91.1 innings pitched and 43 strikeouts.
SERIES HISTORY
Campbell trails 16-62 in the all-time series. The Camels won the most recent meeting in 2025, earning a 1-0 shutout in Buies Creek.

LAST TIME OUT
Campbell earned its third CAA series sweep of the season with a dominant showing against N.C. A&T over Easter weekend in Buies Creek.
The Camels outscored the Aggies 9-1 across three games and recorded shutouts in the opener and finale.
Katelyn Hubley stood out in the circle, earning her third weekly award of the season and first Pitcher of the Week honor on April 6. The freshman went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA, throwing two complete games and recording back-to-back 2-0 shutouts in less than 24 hours. Over 14 innings, she allowed five hits and struck out 17 batters.
PUTTING THE LEAGUE ON NOTICE
Charlie Montgomery was named CAA Co-Player of the Week on Feb. 10 following her performance during the Camels' opening weekend. Montgomery slashed .643/.688/.857 in five games at the Campbell Stampede.
Allyiah Swiney earned CAA Player of the Week honors on Feb. 17 after a standout showing at the War Eagle Classic. Swiney posted a .571/.625/.929 slash line in four games against top competition.
Montgomery and Swiney's honors marked the second time since joining the CAA that the Camels have claimed back-to-back Player of the Week honors. The first instance came in 2024 with Alyssa Henault (March 25) and Mariana Rodriguez (April 1).
Katelyn Hubley was named CAA Co-Rookie of the Week on March 3 for her contributions at the Battle at the Max tournament. Hubley made two starts, earning two wins with nine strikeouts and only two earned runs allowed over 12 innings for a 1.17 ERA.
Hubley earned her second CAA Rookie of the Week nod on March 30. Hubley delivered one of her top performances of the season in Campbell's extra-inning 3-1 victory over Elon on Friday. The Henrico, Va., native tossed all 10 innings and threw 124 pitches in the complete-game victory. The freshman surrendered just one hit and one earned run while striking out eight batters in total, including three in extra innings, to pick up her 10th win of the season.
Hubley earned her third weekly award and first Pitcher of the Week nod on April 6, going 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA to lead Campbell to a sweep of CAA foe N.C. A&T. The freshman threw two complete games, recording back-to-back 2-0 shutouts in less than 24 hours. Over 14 innings, she allowed just five hits, with none going for extra bases, and struck out 17 batters.
PRESEASON RECOGNITION
Campbell had a league-high four players named to the Preseason All-CAA team:
Hannah Cornetto,
Amber DeSena,
Charlie Montgomery and
Allyiah Swiney. The Camels also added two honorable mentions,
Alyssa Armijo and
Madison Ford, tying for the league high. Campbell's six total Preseason All-CAA selections are the most among all CAA teams.
