Pierce's podium highlights day two of CAA championship

ELON, NC - Emily Pierce's third-place finish in the women's 1500m highlighted Campbell's weekend at the CAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

The men finished ninth overall and the women finished 11th in the team standings for the two-day event.

Saturday's action started with a bang, as Pierce finished third in the women's 1500m, clocking a personal-best time of 4:24.98. The time is good for the second-best in program history in the event.

Amanda Ballard, had a busy day after qualifying for both the 100 and 200m finals. Ballard took seventh place in the 100m, clocking a 12.10. She finished eighth in the 200m at 24.85.

The men's 4x100 relay team slid into seventh place with a 44.13.

Daniel Griffith finished fifth in the men's decathlon with a score of 1701.
