Joey Morton was named Coastal Athletic Association Player of the Week for the second time this season as announced by the league on Monday at noon.
Morton batted .538 (7-13) with a double, four homers, six runs and eight RBI in Campbell's three-game sweep at UNCW. The senior belted all four homers and drove in a career-high tying eight in Thursday's 16-12 win, matching the most HR's by any Division I player this season. He added a 2-for-4 effort with a double on Friday. Morton tops the CAA with 71 RBI and has 20 home runs.
The weekly award brings the squads total to 11 on the season.
The Camels open CAA Tournament play on Thursday at 3 p.m. at Brooks Field in Wilmington, N.C against an opponent to be determined. The game will be streamed on FloCollege.
