BUIES CREEK — Redshirt senior right-handed pitcher
David Rossow was named American Coaches Baseball Association (ABCA)/Rawlings Third Team All-American as announced by the organization on Friday morning.
Rossow earns his second All-American honors after being named NCBWA Third Team All-American earlier in the week. He is just the sixth Camel to earn ACBA/Rawlings All-American honors and the third Camel pitcher (Ryan Thompson, 2013; Thomas Harrington, 2022).
The right-hander was named CAA Pitcher of the Year and first team all-conference after securing the "triple crown" on the mound. He led the league in ERA (2.53), strikeouts (104), and wins (10). The Boca Raton, Fla., native finished with a 10-2 record in 81.2 innings pitched after making 13 starts in 16 appearances.
He became just the fifth Camel pitcher to record 100+ strikeouts in a season and the mark is the fourth most in a season. He finished with 10.7 strikeouts per nine innings for fifth-most in a single season. Rossow combined for a pair of shutouts on the season and held opponents to a .207 batting average.
ABCA/Rawlings All-Region first team selections, which were announced June 9, were eligible for All-America honors.
The ABCA All-America Team was first recognized in 1949 and now spans nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II, and III, the Pacific Association Division, and high school. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first recognized in 2007.
