Community Service

Camels Community Service Team

As a dimension of Life Skills, the student-athletes are encouraged to participate in the Athletic Department's commitment to community service. The mission of this program is to develop ways to increase university representation through community service activities. Several activities are planned and publicized each year. Individual teams and individual student-athletes may choose their own projects. These activities should be approved in advance by the Academic Counselors for community service credit.

Camels in the Classroom

The Camels in the Classroom (CitC) program is a partnership between Campbell University Athletics and Buies Creek Elementary School in which Campbell Student-Athletes volunteer to work with elementary school students. This initiative lasts throughout the academic year with different teams volunteering in the classrooms each month.

Lou Eaton Service Award

This award is presented to the student-athlete who is most active in the community or school-related service outside the playing realm, and maintains solid academic achievement. Students are responsible for reporting any involvement in community projects to the Athletics Academic Counselor at the end of each month. A log for each student-athlete is maintained to track their total community service hours.

Camels CARE Banner

Camels CARE Banner is presented to the team that posts the most community service hours considering both team activities and combined individual activities.
