CONWAY, S.C. – Seth Lancaster drove in six and No. Coastal Carolina defeated visiting Campbell 23-4 Saturday at Springs Brooks Stadium, closing out the 2016 regular season.
Coastal improved to 40-15 on the season and 21-3 in Big South games. Campbell finishes the season 26-27 overall and 13-11 in conference play. The Chanticleers took game one of the set 9-1 Thursday, and clinched the Big South series over the Camels with a 6-5 win Friday.
Lancaster went 4-for-5, including a three run home run in the fourth, also scoring twice on the day.
Michael Paez and Connor Owings also knocked in four each. Paez went 3-for-5, homering twice and scoring three times, while Owings was 3-for-3 with another homer, also scoring three times with three walks. The Chanticleers launched seven home runs in the win.
Jason Bilous (2-1) picked up the win, allowing three runs on four hits with six strikeouts and four walks in five innings. Tyler Poole allowed a run on a hit with a strikeout and three walks in relief. Patrick Corbett bridged the gap, allowing a hit with two strikeouts and a walk.
Michael Horrell (5-6) took the loss, allowing seven runs, four earned, on five hits with a walk in 1/3 of an inning.
The Chanticleers sent 13 to the plate in the first and the fourth, scoring seven and eight runs, respectively in each frame.
Matt Parrish doubled twice for the Camels, going 2-for-4 with a RBI. Anthony Lopez went 1-for-3 with a RBI, and Justin Lamazares, delivered his second home run of the weekend, a solo shot, going 1-for-2 on the day.
