ANNAPOLIS, MD. – Nathan Boston and
Quentin Perez both tallied third place finishes, and Campbell took eighth in the team standings Saturday at the Navy Classic.
At 133, Boston advanced through the first round with a bye before notching his first pin of the season, coming at the 4:15 mark against Devan Turner of Oregon State. A 2-0 decision over Caleb Richardson of Old Dominion put the first-year Camel in the semifinals, falling to the eventual tournament 133 champion, American's Josh Terao.
Boston claimed a 10-1 major decision in the third place match, taking down Indiana's Garrett Pepple.
At 165, Perez also advanced through the first round with a bye, then recorded a major decision win 11-2 over Laurence Kosoy of Columbia. The Campbell junior then claimed an 8-7 win over Purdue's Jacob Morrissey, advancing to the 165 semifinals.
After dropping a 10-4 decision to the day's 165 champion, Drew Daniels of Navy, Perez defeated 13
th-ranked Jonathan Schleifer of Princeton 7-5 in the third place match.
Campbell took eighth in the team standings with 62.5 points, just behind Ohio's 69 team points. Navy took the team title with 112.5, following by Purdue (100.5), Old Dominion (98.5), Indiana (81.5), Princeton (74.5) and American (72.5).
Brown and Kent State tied for ninth with 61.5 points, while Oregon State placed 11
th (56.5). Columbia (52), Bucknell (46), Hofstra (32.5), George Mason (32.5), The Citadel (18) and Delaware Valley (8.5) rounded out the team standings.
Also highlighting Campbell's efforts on the day was Korbin Meink, who took fifth overall at 125. The freshman won his first two bouts of the day before dropping a 6-3 decision to American's Gage Curry. Meink bounced back with back-to-back decisions, advancing to the fifth place final, where he defeated Purdue's Devin Schroder 3-1.
Austin Kraisser also advanced to the fifth place match at 157, falling to Navy's Zachary Davis 8-3.
Coming into the tournament undefeated on the season,
Andrew Morgan dropped his first outing of the day, but rallied for three wins at 174, advancing to the semifinals of the fifth place bracket.

Campbell returns to action tomorrow at the North Carolina State Wolfpack Open.
Next up for Campbell will be the Hofstra Duals on December 3. The Camels will return to Buies Creek on January 18, hosting SoCon rival Appalachian State.
