Shy Tuelle scored a season-high 18 points and
Taya Bolden notched her third double-double in four games as Campbell
(15-9, 7-6 Big South) outlasted Gardner-Webb 69-63 on the road.
Tuelle poured in her seventh straight double figure scoring night, while Bolden collected her second-straight 15-rebound game, adding 10 points.
Lauren Carter also added 16 points with five rebounds in the win, while
Caroline Bowns dished out a career-high nine assists.
An 8-4 Campbell spurt to open the third quarter earned the Camels a 43-26 lead, their largest lead of the game (17). The Bulldogs pulled to within four of the Camels (62-58, 1:17 to go), but CU went 7-for-11 at the charity stripe over the final minute of play to pull away with the 69-63 win.
Campbell outrebounded Gardner-Webb 49-39. The Bulldogs forced 29 Campbell turnovers, scoring 27 off the Camels' miscues.

Carter leads the Camels on the season at 9.2 points per game, adding 4.4 rebounds, while Tuelle tacks on 9.0 points. Bolden owns 8.2 points and 8.9 rebounds per game for Campbell, ranking third in the Big South on the glass.
Freshman guard
Shy Tuelle was named the
Big South Freshman of the Week for the second consecutive week on Monday after leading the Camels in scoring in two games, posting 13 at Hampton on Tuesday before tallying a career-high 18 points in CU's 69-63 win over Gardner-Webb.
Defensive Camels
Overall, Campbell leads the Big South and ranks 13th nationally in scoring defense, holding opponents to 55.5 points per game. In conference-only games, Campbell owns a 54.3 points-per-game clip, which ranks second in the Big South.
Campbell's 111 blocks this season is second in the Big South and ranks 36th nationally. CU's 65 blocks (5.0 bpg) in league games is also second.
The Camels are second in conference games in field-goal percentage defense, keeping Big South opponents to 34.2 percent from the field.
Campbell's overall defensive field-goal percentage of 35.1 percent ranks 12th nationally.
Notorious defense under Fisher
Under
Ronny Fisher, CU has finished in the top three in the NCAA in points allowed each of the past two years. In 2016-17, the Camels claimed the program's first-ever NCAA statistical championship by holding opponents to a Division I-low 49.6 ppg. The 2017-18 squad finished 15-15, again fielding an elite defense, allowing 51.9 ppg, which ranked third in all of NCAA Division I. The Camels again lead the Big South in scoring defense in 2018-19 at 55.5 points per game.

Campbell's +4.6 rebounding margin ranks second in the Big South and ranks 64th nationally. The Camels stand second in the league in both offensive (41.2) and defensive (36.6) rebounding percentage.
Scouting Charleston Southern
The Buccaneers
(9-15, 6-7 Big South) have won four of their last five outings heading into Tuesday's showdown, including a 72-57 win at Hampton on Saturday. Rachel Burns led four Bucs in double figures with 15 points, adding five rebounds and two steals, while Ke'Asia Jackson collected 13 points.
Jackson leads CSU at 12.6 points per game, adding 3.9 rebounds per contest. Burns owns 10.5 points and 5.1 boards per game, with Breannah Bretches tacking on 11.1 points per game.
The teams will be meeting for the second time this season, with Campbell clipping Charleston Southern
60-58 on the road on January 10.
Lauren Carter posted a team-high 12 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, to lead the Camels, while Hayley Barker notched 11 points on the night.
