BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell will make its first NCAA Tournament appearance in Lincoln, Neb. to take on 10-seed Nebraska in the opening round. The winner will face the winner of Florida State vs Kansas State.
The opening-round match will be played on Dec. 3 at a time to be announced later.
Campbell earned its first automatic bid to the tournament after topping High Point in five sets a week ago in the Big South Championship match.
Nebraska enters as the 10-seed after a 21-7 season and finishing second in the Big 10 regular season with a 15-4 league record. The Cornhuskers have won two of the last seven national championships, taking home the title in 2015 and 2017.
With two top-50 wins on the résumé, Campbell recently cracked the top-100 RPI and now sits at 95th. The Camels have a tall task ahead, with Nebraska sitting at 13th in RPI.
The winner of the first-round match will face the winner of Florida State vs Kansas State.
