Camels set for NCAA tournament

COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS - The Fighting Camels are set to face 3-seed Texas A&M in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Friday night in College Station. The Camels and Aggies play the second match of the day in Reed Arena, with first-serve expected around 7:30. 

The winner between Campbell and Texas A&M will advance to face the winner of 6-seed TCU and Stephen F. Austin.

Series/Tournament History
Campbell squares off with Texas A&M for the first time on the volleyball court. Campbell is 0-1 against the SEC this season, with an opening-weekend loss to South Carolina.

Campbell is 0-1 all-time in the NCAA tournament, falling to Nebraska in the 2021 first round.

Scouting The Aggies
Texas A&M earned a 3-seed and was ranked sixth in the country in the last AVCA rankings on Nov. 16. The Aggies bring a 23-4, 14-1 record into the postseason after falling to Texas in the SEC semifinals. Each of A&M's four losses this season came to teams ranked in the top 15. 

The Aggies are led by Maddie Waak, the national assist leader with 11.51 assists/set. She is joined up front by 6'2" middle blocker Ifenna Cos-Okpalla, who ranks third in the country in blocks (1.67 b/s) and seventh in hitting percentage (.438).

Last Time Out
Campbell punched its ticket to the Big Dance with a 3-2 win over Hofstra in the CAA championship match. The Camels held off three championship points in the fourth set with a 5-0 run to force a fifth set. Campbell improved to 7-0 in five-set matches this season by downing the Pride 15-12 in the deciding set to clinch the title.

This 2025 Campbell squad became the first in program history to win both the regular season and tournament titles in the same year. 

Campbell is the most improved team in the country from 2024 to 2025, adding 17 additional wins to the season tally.
