Allen adds Stats Perform, AFCA All-America honors

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell defensive end Brevin Allen has added All-America honors from both Stats Perform and the American Football Coaches Association.

Already named third team All-America by both the Associated Press and HERO Sports last week, Allen tacked on second team All-America by FCS Stats Perform on Monday, and added second team accolades from the AFCA on Wednesday.

The 2021 Big South Defensive Player of the Year and a finalist for the Stats Perform FCS Buck Buchanan Award, Allen led the Big South in sacks (9.5) and tackles for loss (17.5), ranking in the top-20 nationally in both categories.

The Greensboro, N.C. native set a Campbell single season record for sacks, while tying the program single season mark in stops for loss, standing as one of 10 Big South defenders with two or more forced fumbles on the year, adding 44 total tackles with a fumble recovery, a pass breakup and six hurries.

Allen was also named Big South Defensive Player of the Week (10/11) after posting 3.0 tackles for loss, including 2.0 sacks, with two forced fumbles, five total tackles and a pass breakup in a win at Gardner-Webb.
