Softball announces 2021 schedule

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Highlighted with games against six power five conference opponents, head coach Sharonda McDonald-Kelley announced the 2021 Campbell softball schedule on Thursday morning.

The Camels begin their 2021 campaign by hosting the Campbell Invitational (Feb. 20-21) competing against, Kentucky, Mount St. Mary's, and N.C. Central.
 
Campbell will then welcome North Carolina to Amanda Littlejohn Stadium for a mid-week game (Feb. 24) against the Tar Heels. That weekend, the Camels will play a four-game series (Feb. 26-28) against the Colonels of Eastern Kentucky.

The homestand will conclude with a Wednesday matchup against East Carolina (Mar. 3).

From there, Campbell will head to the lone star state to compete in the Reveille Classic in College Station, Tx. against Tennessee, Lamar, and hosts Texas A&M (Mar. 5-7).

Two days later, the Camels will return to play on North Carolina soil opening Big South Conference play at Gardner-Webb (Mar. 9-10) in Boiling Springs, N.C. After which, they will spend the weekend competing in the Green & Gold Classic (Mar. 13-14) hosted by Charlotte.

The team will return home for a stretch of seven games with three-game series against Winthrop Mar.19-20 and USC Upstate Mar. 27-28, with a mid-week game against North Carolina A&T between those two series.

As the calendar turns to April, Campbell heads on to the road again from April 2-14 traveling for games against, Longwood, N.C. A&T, and UNC Wilmington.

Campbell will then return to the creek for another seven-game stretch at home with two three-game conference series against Charleston Southern (April 17-18) and Radford (May 1-2). The following Wednesday, the Camels will play host to Duke in their last out of conference game of the season.

The Camels will wrap up regular season play on the road against Presbyterian, May 8-9, before preparing for the Big South Championship in Boiling Springs, N.C. hosted by Gardner-Webb, from May 11-15.

This will be head coach Sharonda McDonald-Kelley's third season at the helm of the program following the abbreviated 2020 season due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
