BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell softball team wraps up its 2026 home slate this weekend with a three-game CAA series against Hampton. The teams previously met to open conference play March 6-8, when the Camels swept the series in Virginia.
Campbell will honor its five seniors Saturday:
Alyssa Armijo,
Amber DeSena,
Charlie Montgomery,
Allyiah Swiney and
Megan Leon.
Fans who arrive early Saturday can receive Campbell softball trading cards. Sunday marks the final Kids in the Creek Day of the season, featuring postgame autographs and a chance for kids to run the bases. The weekend is presented by NC Farm Bureau in Lillington.
First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday. All three games will be streamed on FloCollege, with live statistics available.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Hampton enters with a 10-30 overall record and a 4-17 mark in conference play, with league wins against Stony Brook, N.C. A&T, Elon and Charleston. This weekend marks the Pirates' final series of the 2026 regular season.
Senior outfielder Carmynn Bonner leads Hampton offensively, hitting .413 with 50 hits, a .645 slugging percentage and a .455 on-base percentage. She also leads the team with 10 doubles, six home runs and 30 RBIs. Sophomore Ava Lester paces the pitching staff with a 4.56 ERA and ranks second on the team with 34 strikeouts.
The Pirates sit fifth in the CAA South standings. Hampton is led by Cat Tarvin, who is in her second season as head coach and holds a 25-64 record with the program.
SERIES HISTORY
Campbell leads the all-time series 23-2, including a 9-1 mark in Buies Creek. The Camels swept Hampton earlier this season, outscoring the Pirates 40-2 with two shutouts. 40 runs is the most scored in a CAA series in program history.
Campbell has won the last nine meetings. Hampton's last win in the series came in Buies Creek in 2022, a 3-2 victory. The Camels are 6-0 against Hampton under head coach

LAST TIME OUT
Campbell fell to UNC Greensboro, 5-2, on Wednesday. Campbell totaled four hits on the night. Montgomery finished 1-for-2 with a triple and a run scored. Swiney added a double, while Krebs recorded a hit and two stolen bases.
Campbell rebounded after a 4-1 loss in the CAA series opener to Elon, winning the next two games to secure its fifth conference series victory of the season. The Camels outscored the Phoenix 27-2 over the final two games.
On Saturday, Campbell posted its highest run total since 2022 in an 18-1, five-inning win at Amanda Littlejohn Stadium. The Camels broke the game open with an 11-run third inning, sending 16 batters to the plate.
Charlie Montgomery and
Emma Slutzah each had three hits, with Slutzah driving in four runs. Ten players recorded hits, and each drove in at least one run.
On Sunday, Campbell secured a 9-1, six-inning win, finishing with nine hits from seven players.
Kylie Specht went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while
Haley Krebs also had two hits.
Allyiah Swiney drove in two runs, and Specht, Swiney and Montgomery each stole a base.
