BUIES CREEK, NC – For the third time in as many weeks as she's played, freshman outside hitter
Chloe Cook was named the Big South Freshman of the Week.
Cook is the first Camel to ever win three conference weekly awards in a single season.
The Nacogdoches, Texas native put away 18 kills in seven sets on the weekend against Winthrop. She also contributed on defense with eight digs and three blocks. In Saturday's straight-set win, Cook tallied 11 kills and only four errors on 26 attacks. She also matched her season-high of seven digs in the win.
This week's other award winners were Madison Smith (HPU) for Player of the Week and Kasey West (UNC Asheville) for Liberto of the Week.
The Camels will return home for some weeknight volleyball this week when they host Charleston Southern on Thursday at 5 p.m. and again Friday at 2 p.m.
