Weather halts play in Stitch Intercollegiate

Nyholm T3rd through 34 holes

CARY, N.C. – Pontus Nyholm was three shots off the individual lead and Campbell was seventh in the team standings when thunderstorms halted play in the second round Friday of the Stitch Intercollegiate at MacGregor Downs Country Club.
 
Nyholm was six-under through 34 holes and 2-under on the round with only Christian Salzer of NC State (-9) and Virginia Tech's Connor Burgess (-7) in front of the Camel senior on the leader board.
 
No. 9 NC State (-21), No. 26 Notre Dame (-20) and Virginia Tech (-19) topped the team chart, followed by ETSU (-17), College of Charleston (-11), No. 40 Duke (-6) and the Camels (-4) in the 12-school field.
 
Campbell's Edwin Blomander was 1-over, Henrik Lilja 2-over, Josh Hetherington 3-over and Romain Lanteri 8-over with two holes remaining in the second round.
 
Play is set to resume Saturday at 8:00 a.m. with the final round to follow immediately. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
 
The Stitch Intercollegiate individual champion earns a sponsor's exemption into the Korn Ferry Tour Rex Hospital Open June 3-6 at TPC Wakefield in Raleigh.
 
The Course / MacGregor Downs CC (Par 72, 6973 Yards)
