BUIES CREEK, N.C. - After sweeping the Big South regular season and tournament titles The Campbell Fighting Camels will head to Stillwater, Okla. to begin NCAA Regional play, as revealed on the NCAA Softball selection show Sunday night on ESPN2.
Campbell will begin regional play against host and the No. 5 overall seed Oklahoma State Cowgirls on Friday, May 21 at 2:00 p.m. before other regional opponents Mississippi State and Boston University square off at 4:30 p.m. at Cowgirl Stadium. Both games on Friday will be streamed via ESPN3.
The Camels are making their first appearance in the NCAA Softball Tournament in over a decade with the last time coming in 2009 when the Camels traveled to the Chapel Hill Regional. This also marks the program's fourth all-time trip to an NCAA Regional.
It will be the first time in program history the Camels will take on the Oklahoma St. Cowgirls.
How we got here
At the 2021 Big South Championship over the weekend, Campbell defeated USC Upstate in the "winner-take-all" championship game, to secure the Big South's automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
Morgan Rios sent a massive go-ahead home run over the left field wall in the fourth inning of title game as Campbell went on to win 5-2 over the Spartans securing the 2021 Big South Softball Championship Saturday evening.
Claire Blount, the Big South Championship MVP, finished Campbell's three games going 4-6. at the plate with two doubles a home run, and four RBIs with a slugging percentage of 1.500. The Florida native also finished with a tournament-best .833 on-base percentage and two runs.
Blount was joined on the All-Tournament team by three other Camels in

Georgeanna Barefoot, and
Morgan Rios.

Due to the NCAA's limited capacity guidelines, tickets will go on sale one hour prior to each game at the stadium. The only seats available for purchase are tickets that go unused from the team allotments.
The champion of each regional will advance to the super regionals that will be held at campus sites from May 27-30. The eight teams that advance through the super regional round will participate in the 2021 Women's College World Series played in Oklahoma City.
