Camels still 12th after 36 holes in Noblesville

NOBLESVILLE, IND. – Edwin Blomander is tied for 34th and Campbell remains 12th on the team leader board after 36 holes of the NCAA Noblesville Regional Championship at The Sagamore Club.
 
No. 5 Texas (282-279—561) owns a seven-shot lead over No. 18-Tennessee (285-283—568) through two rounds.  No. 8 North Carolina (285-284—569), No. 28 Louisville (288-282—570) and No. 19 North Florida (285-288—573) round out the top five teams.
 
Campbell (307-296—599) is four strokes behind 11th-place UT-Martin (299-300—599) and nine shots off 43rd-ranked Duke (305-289—594) in the 13-team field.
 
The 54-hole event concludes through Wednesday on the par-72, 7173-yard Jack Nicklaus design with the top five teams (and low individual from non-qualifying teams) advancing to the NCAA Championship, May 28-June 2 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

A junior from Eksjo, Sweden, Blomander (74-72—146) had three birdies and an eagle Tuesday in his even-par round.  Pontus Nyholm (72-76—148) is tied for 45th, while Henrik Lilja climbed 12 spots up the leader board to T50 (78-71—149) after shooting team team's low round of the day.  Josh Hetherington is tied for 72nd (83-77—160).  Alejandro Cogollo shot seven-over 79 as a substitute for first round participant Romain Lanteri.
 
Final round play begins Wednesday at 7:30 a.m.  The Camels will start from the 10th tee along with Duke and UT-Martin at 8:55 a.m.  Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.

The Course – The Sagamore Club (Par 72, 7173 yards)
A Jack Nicklaus signature design, The Sagamore Club was voted among the top-10 best new private courses in America in 2004.  Located on the north side of Indianapolis, The Sagamore Club hosted the 2010 NCAA Division II Championship as well as the 2015 NCAA Division I Regional where SMU shared the team title led by eventual NCAA individual champion Bryson DeChambeau.
