Henrik Lilja fired a collegiate-low 64 and Campbell moved up three places on the team leader board after Monday's second round of the Golfweek Fall Challenge at True Blue Golf Course.
Lilja's bogey-free day included six birdies and an eagle on the par-five 10th hole. His 8-under-par 64 is tied for the fourth-lowest round in Campbell men's golf history and three shy of the school record 61 shot by Ray Kraivixien Apr. 14, 2018 at the Stitch Intercollegiate.
A senior from Gothenburg, Sweden, Lilja (74-64—138) climbed into a tied for seventh place on the individual leader board. Freshman
Henric Bjelke (70-73—143) is tied for 22nd, while junior
Claude Churchward is tied for 42nd after consecutive 73s. Red-shirt sophomore
Romain Lanteri was 3-under for the day and is tied for 62nd (80-69—149), while senior
Edwin Blomander (75-75—150) is tied for 67th.
Harry Jones of Wofford (65-68—133) is the individual leader through 36 holes, while Mercer (273-274—547) holds a 17-shot lead entering Tuesday's final round on the par-72, 7005-yard Mike Strantz design.
Campbell (292-279—571) is tied with Cal Baptist for sixth, but the Camels are only seven strokes off the pace of second-place Delaware entering the final round.
The Camels will be paired with Jacksonville State and Tennessee Tech Tuesday and start from the first tee at 8:30 a.m. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
