BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The NCAA released its first coaches' rankings of the 2021-22 season on Friday, featuring five Campbell wrestlers.
Among the Camels ranked are No. 29
Korbin Meink at 125 pounds, No. 7
Josh Heil at 149, No. 24
Austin Murphy at 174, No. 29
Caleb Hopkins at 184 and No. 24
Taye Ghadiali at heavyweight.
The group has combined for nine NCAA tournament appearances, led by Heil, a four-time qualifier.
The coaches' rankings are determined by a vote of 14 coaches in each weight class with two head coaches from each of the seven conference. For ranking purposes, coaches may only consider a wrestler that has been designated as a starter at a respective weight class. Wrestlers must have five Division I matches in the weight class to be considered with at least one within the last 30 days.
Heil is 8-0 on the season with five wins over ranked opponents, also claiming the 149 pound division at the Matmen Open. Ghadiali is 11-2 overall, leading the Camels in total wins and adding a tournament title at the Wolfpack Open.
Meink (9-2), Murphy (6-2) and Hopkins (8-3), meanwhile, were three of four Camels to go 3-0 at last Sunday's Chippewa Challenge.

The coaches ranking is one of several criteria that will be evaluated by the NCAA Division I Wrestling Committee during the at-large selection and seeding process along with head-to-head competition, quality wins, Ratings Percentage Index (RPI), conference tournament placement, results versus common opponents and win percentage.
Campbell will welcome Southern Conference foe The Citadel, as well as No. 5 North Carolina State to the Pope Convocation Center/Gore Arena on Sunday, January 23. The Camels will square off with the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m., following with the fifth-ranked Wolfpack.
No spectators will be permitted at the match, with all Campbell Athletic events closed through January 25, per
CU Health and Safety Task Force policy.
