Camels set for final weekend of regular season

BUIES CREEK - Campbell is set for the final week of the regular season with a pair of home matches against UNC Asheville and USC Upstate. A weekend sweep would give the Camels a share of the Big South regular season title for the first time, as well as the top seed in next weekend's tournament.

Campbell (16-10, 10-2) enters the final week of the regular season tied atop the standings with High Point, but holds the tiebreaker after sweeping the season series with the Panthers. USC Upstate (6-21, 3-11) and UNC Asheville (4-20, 1-13), occupy the bottom two spots in the Big South standings.

Weekend Festivities
Friday's match will feature the banner ceremony to unveil the 2021 Big South Championship banner, the first championship banner in program history.

Saturday is Senior Day for five student-athletes. Emily Mitter, Elyse Gross, Melody Paige, Ananda Patterson, and Lailah Green will all be honored with a pregame ceremony. This group of seniors is the most successful in program history, as the first graduating class with a winning record in all four years in Buies Creek. The quintet has helped Campbell to a third-place, two second-place finishes, and has the 2022 squad on the cusp of a first Big South regular season crown.

Previous Meetings
Campbell topped Asheville in straight sets on Oct. 15. The Camels hit a blistering .400 for the match, the second highest mark in a match this season, while holding the Bulldogs to just .122. Chloe Cook finished with a team-high 10 kills in the contest.

The Camels took down USC Upstate in four sets in Spartanburg on Oct. 14. The middles had their way in the match, with the trio of Paige, Patterson and Clent combining for 34 kills and helping the team to 18 blocks.

Looking Ahead
Campbell has already clinched its spot in the Big South Tournament set to be held Nov. 19 and 20 at the Millis Center in High Point, N.C. This weekend's outcomes will determine where Campbell falls between the No. 1 and No. 3 seeds.
