BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell has placed eight student-athletes on the 2022 Academic All-District® Football Team, selected by College Sports Communicators.

Gabe Holmes, defensive back and return specialist
Josh McNeely, defensive end
Prince Ngwenah, punter Corey Petersen, kicker
Isaac Riffle, linebacker
Keshawn Thompson and
Jack Wilkes, another linebacker, all made the list, which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field or court and in the classroom.
The group includes four Camels that also earned
All-Big South honors on Tuesday, including first team all-conference performers Hayes and McNeely, as well as second team member Petersen and all-academic team honoree Thompson.
Thompson, a Hillsborough, N.C. native, was also named one of 15 finalists for the FedEx Ground
Doris Robinson Award, announced by Stats Perform.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late December.
