Henrik Lilja tied for 12th individually and Campbell finished in a tie for 11th place on the team leader board after Sunday's final round of the 42nd Schenkel Invitational at Forest Heights Country Club.
Host Georgia Southern (273-283-839—839) claimed team honors at 25-under par, seven strokes better than No. 17 Notre Dame (846). The Camels finished 13-over as a team (287-292-298—877), tied with Virginia Tech, three shots better than No. 47 Florida Gulf Coast and four clear of Wisconsin in the 15-team event.
Lilja (70-73-70—213) produced his sixth top-15 finish in eight outings this season. He made 11 birdies and played the par-5 holes at 6-under for the tournament. Freshman

Kieron van Wyk from College of Charleston won the individual title at 12 under par 204 (66-68-70), two strokes ahead of Georgia Southern's Mason Williams (68-68-70—206).
Campbell continues its spring season with the Stitch Intercollegiate, Apr. 8-9 at MacGregor Downs CC in Cary, N.C.

The Course: Forest Heights CC (Par 72, 7123 Yards)
Recognized as one of the finest courses in the Southeast, Forest Heights Country Club is host to the Schenkel Invitational, which draws top teams from around the country. Forest Heights is also the site of the annual Southeastern Amateur Golf tournament and has hosted the Southern Conference tournament and the Georgia State Golf Association Four-Ball tournament. Opened in 1947, the greens were rebuilt to USGA specifications under the direction of Bob Cupp in 1993.
The Schenkel Invitational
Named for Georgia Southern alum and hall of fame broadcaster Chris Schenkel, the Schenkel Invitational has been a proving ground for some of the game's best players with names like Jay Haas, Andy Bean, Jerry Pate, Andy North, Bob Tway, Scott Verplank, Curtis Strange, Hal Sutton, Mark Calcavecchia, Bill Haas, Billy Horschel, Bubba Watson and Justin Thomas. Past Schenkel Invitational participants have gone on to win 15 majors, most recently Thomas at the 2017 PGA Championship, and 276 PGA TOUR titles.
