Henrik Lilja is the individual leader and Campbell owns a 3-shot edge on the team leader board after 36 holes Thursday of the Big South Conference men's golf stroke play championship at The Patriot GC at Grand Harbor.
Lilja (71-66—137) holds a two-shot edge over teammate
Edwin Blomander (72-67—139), Radford's Bryce Corbett (68-71—139) and Max Dupree of USC Upstate (70-69—139) heading into Friday's final round. The top four teams will advance to Saturday's match play with the winner earning the league's automatic berth in the NCAA regionals.
Campbell (287-281—568) finished 7-under as a team in the second round to jump from fourth to first place. Charleston Southern (281-290-571) is second, followed by Gardner-Webb (285-292—577), Winthrop (285-293—578) and High Point (288-293—581) in the 10-team event.
The two-time defending champion Camels combined for 41 birdies, tops in the field.
Alejandro Cogollo is T15th (72-73—145), while freshmen
Garnet Manley III (76-75—151) and
Henric Bjelke (72-82—154) stand T34 and 41st, respectively.
Lilja leads the event with 13 birdies. His six-under par 66 Thursday afternoon included eight birdies. Blomander fired a bogey-free 5-under in the second round.
Campbell will be paired with Charleston Southern and Gardner-Webb for Friday's final round, starting from the first tee at 8:50 a.m. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
