Campbell baseball announces 2024 schedule, season tickets on sale

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell baseball and head coach Justin Haire have announced the schedule for the 2024 season, which features 32 home games and 21 road games. The season marks their first as a member of the Coastal Athletic Association, after winning the Big South Tournament four of the past five seasons.

Season tickets are now available for purchase for all renewals and new sales. The link to purchase tickets can be found at gocamels.com/tickets.

"We are excited about the 2024 slate," Haire said. "The opportunity to bring more than 30 games back home to Jim Perry Stadium, combined with facing challenging and new opponents from coast to coast will make this a fun and unique season."

The Fighting Camels will host UC-Santa Barbara on Opening Day, which is set for Feb. 16 at Jim Perry Stadium. The series against the Gauchos (Feb. 16-18) is followed by a midweek against East Carolina (Feb. 20) and a weekend series versus Ohio University (Feb. 23-25).

That will be followed by a midweek at Coastal Carolina (Feb. 27) and a road series against Georgia Southern (Mar. 1-3).

Campbell returns to Buies Creek for a string of 12-straight games at Jim Perry Stadium during the month of March, beginning with a visit from the North Carolina Tar Heels on Mar. 5. Other midweeks include Lafayette (Mar. 12) and Charleston Southern (Mar. 19), and the series are against Bucknell (Mar. 8-10) and Valparaiso (Mar. 15-17).

The Camels begin CAA play on Mar. 22 when they host a three-game series against Delaware. Home conference series includes North Carolina A&T (April 5-7), Stony Brook (April 12-14), College of Charleston (April 26-28) and William & Mary (May 16-18).

Road conference series includes Elon (Mar. 29-31), Hofstra (April 19-21), UNCW (May 3-5), and Monmouth (May 10-12).

The midweeks during the conference slate include a season series against Duke (away Mar. 26, home April 23), a neutral site matchup against Charlotte (April 2) in Fayetteville, at NC State (April 16) and Liberty (May 1), and the second legs of the season series against UNC (May 7) and ECU (May 14).

The season ends at home with the series against William & Mary. The CAA Championship is set to take place May 22-25.

"Campbell is humming along, and by many measures, it's the best mid-major program going right now…Campbell has found another gear as a program and turned itself into a consistent winner and player development machine, and look for that to continue into 2024," Joe Healy wrote for D1Baseball.com.

The Camels are returning multiple key pieces from the team last year that went to their fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament. Reigning Big South Player of the Year Lawson Harrill and All-Big South First Team member Grant Knipp will look to lead the position players. Last year's Big South Freshman of the Year Jackson Roberts will look to play a bigger role in the pitching rotation, which features 16 newcomers.

Campbell ended last season ranked No. 22 by D1Baseball after advancing to the Columbia Regional Final.
