BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Led by a school record six Scholar All-Americans, Campbell finished 14^th in the 2022-23 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division I Scholar All-America team rankings.

Caleb Hopkins, a redshirt senior at 184 pounds, was named an NWCA Scholar All-American for the third consecutive season, joined by redshirt junior 197 pounder Levi Hopkins, 141 pound senior Shannon Hanna, 165 pound freshman Dom Baker, 157 pound redshirt senior Troy Nation and 174 pound redshirt freshman Cole Rees.

Three of Campbell's six honorees, Shannon Hanna, Caleb Hopkins and Levi Hopkins, also qualified for the 2023 NCAA Championships, while four finished on the podium at the 2023 Southern Conference Championships, including individual champs Hanna, Hopkins and Hopkins, as well as Nation, who took third at 157.

The trio of Hanna, Hopkins and Hopkins were three of CU's four All-SoCon honorees, while Baker was named to the league's all-freshman team.

Campbell earned a top-30 ranking in the NWCA standings for the eighth time in program history and the sixth time in seven seasons.

In all, 291 wrestlers from 73 institutions were recognized for their academic achievements and commitment to the sport of wrestling. The team award was won by Drexel University, which finished with a 3.6117 GPA, followed by Cleveland State (3.5465) and Wisconsin (3.5197).

In 2022-23, the Camels qualified at least five wrestlers for the NCAA Championships for the fifth consecutive season. Campbell went 16-9 in dual competition, finishing runner-up at the 2023 SoCon Championships with seven earning top-three finishes.
