LEXINGTON, KY. – Campbell has received the USMC-AVCA Team Academic Award as announced Monday. It is the seventh straight year Campbell has earned the award, and the eighth time Campbell has earned the honor during
Greg Goral's ten-year tenure as head coach.
The award, initiated in 1993, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long GPA of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Campbell concluded the 2021-2022 academic year with a team GPA of 3.398.
"The commitment our coaches make to help their student-athletes pursue the best versions of themselves is evident in the academic accomplishments highlighted today." said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "Achievement on the court has always been closely tied to success in the classroom which is reflected by the number of championship programs honored."
Last year, Campbell posted a team GPA of 3.58, including a 3.66 during the spring semester, the highest semester mark in the athletic department during the spring.
