Campbell visits UNCW Saturday night

BUIES CREEK - Campbell (6-8, 1-0) looks to continue its strong start to CAA play with a trip to UNCW (10-4, 0-1) Saturday night. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. in Trask Coliseum and will be broadcast on FloCollege.

Series History
The Camels and Seahawks are no strangers, with 110 meetings between the sides, more than any other Campbell opponent. The Camels are 45-65 all-time against UNCW.

Campbell and UNCW split the meetings last season with a pair of thrillers. UNCW won the first meeting 77-74 in Wilmington before Campbell took the next meeting 105-100 in 2OT in Buies Creek. Jasin Sinani post a career-high 27 points in the win.

Last Time out
Campbell began CAA play with a 57-54 victory over Drexel Thursday night in Gore Arena. The Camels trailed by four at the half, but saw the lead change hands 11 times in just the second half of the back-and-forth affair.

Colby Duggan notched the first double-double of his career with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Jasin Sinani added 14 points, none bigger than his three-pointer with 57 seconds left to give the Camels the lead for good.

The win was Campbell's first win over Drexel, and its first time starting league play with a win since the 2018-19 season.

Scouting the Seahawks
UNCW carries a 10-4, 0-1 record into Saturday night after falling 65-61 in overtime to Towson in the season opener.

The Seahawks are led by Donovan Newby's 16.2 ppg to lead three players averaging double figures, and eight players averaging 8.0 points or more.

UNCW was picked to finish third in the CAA preseason poll and earned one first place vote. They are guided by fifth-year head coach Takayo Siddle.
