SCOUTING VCU: The Rams lost their first two matches of the season before picking up a 2-1 victory over Old Dominion on Friday. Goals in the 73
rd and 87
th minutes provided the win in come-from-behind fashion. Four different players have scored goals for VCU, and no player has more than two points. Moussa Ndiaye leads the VCU back line. A preseason A-10 All-Conference Team member, Ndiaye was the 2024 VaSID Defensive Player of the Year, and this past season he was named the USL League Two Defender of the Year. He was listed at No. 18 in TopDrawerSoccer's preseason player rankings, the fifth defender on the list. Dave Giffard leads the squad in his 16
th season as Head Coach.

SERIES HISTORY: The two teams have faced off only four times in the series history. Each squad has one win with two draws. Last year, the teams played to a 1-1 stalemate in Buies Creek.

LAST TIME OUT: The Fighting Camels secured a win in their first CAA contest of the season, defeating William & Mary by a 2-1 margin.
Ethan Roberts and
Filipe Matos each contributed goals in the first half to earn the victory.
STRONG DEFENDING: Campbell recorded seven clean sheets in 2024 and ranked 26th nationally and 2nd in the CAA with a 0.944 team goals against average.

LAST SEASON: The Camels improved on their 2023 season with an 8-6-4 record in 2024 (3-4-1 in CAA play). Returning defender
Luc Lavielle was named to the CAA All-Freshman team, while
Owen Mikoy was a second-team honoree and
Daniel Osei-Tutu earned third-team recognition.

NEW TO THE CREEK: Campbell welcomes 12 new faces to its team in 2024. This year's freshman class includes forwards
Dani Giovannetti,
Auggie Squillace,
Skyler Wright,
Kana Dube and
Kristijan Bandur. Defender
Ronnie Garcia also joins the freshman class. Transfers
Sam Sery,
Xander Martin,
Zane Pederson,
Kairi Saito,
Xander Naguib and
Daniel Santos Rosa round out the newcomers.

DAPAAH AND MATOS EARN PRESEASON HONORS: Filipe Matos and
Evans Dapaah were named to the Preseason All-CAA Team as voted on by the coaches. Matos led the Camels in goals and points last year, while Dapaah was a strong mainstay within the Campbell midfield.

RETURNING EXPERIENCE: Five Camels that recorded over 1,000 minutes in 2024 make their return to Eakes for the 2025 season.
