Daca earns CAA Player of the Week

BUIES CREEK - Maja Daca earned CAA Player of the Week honors thanks to her standout performance at the Campbell Invitational, where she was also tabbed tournament MVP.

Daca posted 47 kills on .296 hitting, along with 12 aces and 24 digs. The freshman posted a season-high 20 kills in the final match of the tournament against UNCG, needing only four sets and 36 swings to do so. She logged double-figure kills in all three matches over the weekend, including a double-double with 16 kills and 10 digs against Gardner-Webb.

Daca's 12 aces give her 17 total on the young season, ranking her seventh nationally in the category and third among all freshmen.

The Warsaw, Poland native earned CAA Player of the Week honors just six matches into her collegiate career, making her the fastest Camel to ever win a Player of the Week award in any conference. Her 73 total kills through six matches are the most by a Camel since Sarah Colla started with 76 in 2018.

Daca is the firstCamel to win a CAA Player of the Week award since Chloe Cook during the 2023 season.

Daca and the Camels return to action Friday with a pair of matches against UNC Asheville and Queens in the Queens Fall Classic. They'll face The Citadel on Saturday in the event as well.
