BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Fighting Camels welcome the College of Charleston Cougars to Buies Creek for the return trip of this year's CAA opener. The two teams are each looking to keep pace in the south division standings as the second half of the CAA slate begins.

Campbell's comeback effort came up short last weekend against William & Mary, falling 2-1.
Xander Martin scored the lone goal, with both of his goals coming against CAA competition.
The Cougars are in fourth place in the CAA South Division with four points (1-2-1), their lone win against Campbell in the conference opener. Charleston fell to UNCW over the weekend. The team was victorious last week over #1 South Carolina, the first win over the No. 1 ranked team in program history. Stian Bendvold is the reigning CAA Offensive Player of the Week, his second recognition of the season. Matt Lenert leads the team with six goals and 15 points. Marten Brink has played every minute in goal this year and has recorded 22 saves.
Charleston won the previous matchup 2-1 this season to take a 10-9-2 lead in the overall series history. The Camels still hold a 38-36 goal advantage in the series. Campbell won the matchup last year in Buies Creek, 3-2.
CU opens the new season with fresh faces across the board, including a new boss in head coach
Ricky Davey. The first-year skipper comes to Buies Creek after serving as the associate head coach at Mercer last season. In addition to his success at the collegiate level, Davey has also proven to be a winning coach in the Atlanta United Academy program with its U14 and U19 squads.
Returning midfielder
Xander Martin was named to the All-CAA Preseason Team as an honorable mention. He is one of the few returning faces, as the Camels welcome 18 newcomers.
The Camels rank second among all Division I teams in total minutes lost from the 2025 season (18,783) and percentage of minutes lost (94.9%).
