BUIES CREEK — Campbell baseball looks for its eighth straight CAA series win as it hosts Elon for a weekend series at Jim Perry Stadium.

  • Campbell collected a season-high 17 hits en route to a 11-8 win over UNCG on Tuesday night at Jim Perry Stadium. 
  • Five Camels tallied multi-hit performances as Lukas Schramm led going 4-for-4 with three runs scored. 
  • Logen Sutton tallied his first home run as a Camel and Jackson Thompson launched his first of the season.

SERIES HISTORY

  • Campbell and Elon meet for the 33rd time in D1 program history.   
  • Elon leads the overall series 14-18. 
  • The Camels and Phoenix last met in last season's CAA tournament, as the Joe Simpson hit a walk-off home run in the ninth to win, 10-9. 
  • Campbell is 4-2 against Elon in CAA play.

MAKING HISTORY

  • Campbell moved to 16-2 in league play over the weekend, tying the best start to conference play through 18 games. 
  • In 2022, the Camels went 16-2 to open Big South play and finished the season 20-3. 

CENTURY MARK

  • A trio of right-handed pitchers including David Rossow, Zach Sabers, and Mason Smith eclipsed the 100 career strikeout mark this season. 
  • Rossow picked up his 100th career strikeout at William & Mary on Friday while Sabers picked his up at sixth-ranked North Carolina and Smith secured his against UNCW. 

DAVE'S DEALING

  • Right-handed pitcher David Rossow took home CAA Co-Pitcher of the Week honors as the league announced on Monday afternoon.
  • Rossow picked up his CAA-best seventh win (7-1) of the season in Saturday's 7-3 win over UNCW.
  • He fired a career-long 8.0 innings, allowing one run on four hits and tallied 11 strikeouts. The 11 strikeouts marked the second most of the season for the redshirt senior. 
  • The right-hander didn't allow a runner past second base through six frames before giving up a solo homer in the 7th. He struck out at least one batter in seven of eight innings. 
  • Rossow did not allow a walk in the contest and held opponents to a .148 average after retiring 22 of the 27 batters faced. 

CARLOS CONNECTS

  • Carlos Lugo leads the squad with 14 multi-hit games and has recorded a hit in 25 of 34 games played.
  • Lugo is batting .336 with a team-high 44 hits. He has collected 20 RBI and 25 runs scored.
