Camels conclude regular season at UNCW

BUIES CREEK — Campbell baseball concludes the regular season traveling to UNCW for a three-game series beginning Thursday, May 14 at Brooks Field.

CAA SOUTH DIVISION CHAMPIONS
  • Campbell clinched the top spot in the South Division following a three-game sweep of North Carolina A&T. The Camels have swept six of their nine CAA series and have won six straight in league play. Campbell has earned a first-round bye in the CAA Baseball Championship.
LAST TIME OUT 
  • Campbell went 3-1 over the week in non-conference action picking up wins against Charlotte, Gardner-Webb, and Bradley before dropping its final game of the week to Bradley, 5-4 in Boiling Springs.
SERIES HISTORY
  • Campbell and UNCW meet for the 116th time in program history since 1978. 
  • The Seahawks hold a 69-46 overall advantage.
  • The Camels are 23-37 on the road against UNCW. 
  • Campbell took the series earlier in the season after dropping the Friday night contest, the Camels secured the final two games. 
  • The Camels are 4-5 in CAA play with the Seahawks.

MUSIC ON REPEAT
  • Sophomore utility Jett Music was tabbed CAA Player of the Week as announced by the league on Monday at noon. 
  • The weekly award marks the sophomore's second weekly award of the season and was also named the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Week back on April 28. 
  • Music put together a huge week at the plate, batting .438 (7-for-16) with four homers, two doubles, and 12 RBI in Campbell's 3-1 week. 
  • The Clayton, N.C. native, became one of eight players nationally with three home runs in a game this season and is the first Camel since Lawson Harrill did on April 23, 2024. He drove in a career-best seven in the win over Charlotte marking the most nice May 15 last season when Darnell Parker Jr. drove in the same against Delaware.
  • He was 3-for-5 with 3 RBI's in a victory over Gardner-Webb and hit his league-leading 17th homer vs. Bradley on Sunday.
  • Music (2-1) also picked up the win against Gardner-Webb on Saturday tossing 1.1 innings and picking up three strikeouts. 
CENTURY MARK
  • Four right-handed pitchers including David Rossow, Zach Sabers, Mason Smith and Caleb White eclipsed the 100 career strikeout mark this season. 
  • Rossow picked up his 100th career strikeout at William & Mary on Friday while Sabers picked his up at sixth-ranked North Carolina, Smith secured his against UNCW, and White against UNC Charlotte. 
DAVE'S DEALING
  • Right-handed pitcher David Rossow has been dealing all season long and leads the squad with nine wins and 2.71 ERA in 69.2 innings pitched. He is holding opponents to a .203 batting average and has struck out 88 on the season.

  • The Camels have clinched a first-round bye and will begin its Coastal Athletic Association tournament run on Thursday, May 21 at Brooks Field in Wilmington, N.C.
