BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Cole Hallum and JD Andreessen slugged home runs and Campbell won its ninth in a row, 9-4 over Bowling Green Saturday at Jim Perry Stadium.

Campbell (12-2) clinched the series over BGSU (3-5) with Saturday's win, pounding five extra base hits. The Camels has recorded 24 extra base hits over its last five games with seven home runs.

Campbell took game one of the series 4-2 on Friday behind Heath Bowers' school record 15 strikeouts. The set wraps up with a 1 p.m. first pitch on Sunday.

After putting runners in scoring position in the second and third, Campbell broke through with a five-run fourth, highlighted by Hallum's third homer of the season, a two-run blast to left. The long ball came after Seth LaRue's RBI single and Kyle Leady's sacrifice fly. Brian Taylor's RBI double made it 5-0 CU.

In the sixth, Cedric Mullins led off the inning with his fourth triple of the season, scoring when the Bowling Green relay throw skipped away.

Andreessen, a freshman catcher, tallied a solo home run in the sixth, the first of his career.

Kyle Leady was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the seventh and Dustin Krob flared a RBI single in the eighth to round out scoring for the Camels.

With Campbell up 6-0, Bowling Green threatened in the sixth with a pair of leadoff singles from Nick Glanzman and Brandon Howard. After Glanzman scored on a wild pitch, RBI singles from Randy Righter and Matt Smith cut the CU lead in half.

The Falcons picked up another run in the eighth, an unearned score on one of Campbell's three miscues in the win.

Nick Thayer (3-0) picked up the win for Campbell, pitching six frames with three runs on seven hits with five strikeouts and a walk. Sam Rector tossed the final two innings with an unearned run on two hits with a strikeout.

Coley Thompkins bridged the gap with a perfect seventh, fanning two.

Trevor Blaylock (0-3) took the loss, allowing seven runs, six earned, on 10 hits with two strikeouts in six innings. Tony Landi and Tyler Anderson each surrendered a run in an inning each.

Mullins went 3-for-5 with two runs for the Camels. LaRue, Andreessen and Taylor all added two hits apiece, while Leady drove in a pair.

Brandon Howard paced BGSU, going 2-for-5 with a run.

Campbell is scheduled to make its first appearance away from Buies Creek next Tuesday, March 10 at East Carolina. So far, CU has seen four away contests canceled or moved to Jim Perry Stadium due to weather conditions.

Following the short trip to ECU, the Camels return home, opening Big South play with Longwood on March 13.
