BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Josh Heil and Caleb Hopkins have both been named Scholar All-Americans, while Campbell is No. 15 in the 2020-21 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division I Scholar All-America team rankings.

With a 3.3589 team GPA, the Camels earned a top-30 ranking in the NWCA standings for the sixth time in program history and the fourth time in five years.

Campbell's first ever four-time NCAA Championships qualifier, Heil went 9-4 overall in 2021, including a 4-0 SoCon mark. The double major in fitness and wellness management and business administration was ranked as high as No. 7 individually at 149 pounds during the regular season, becoming a SoCon finalist for the fourth time, and winning a pair of matchups at the NCAA Championships.

Making his first NCAA Championships appearance, Hopkins was the SoCon's 184 pound champion, going 12-3 on the year with a perfect 7-0 record in conference matchups. The cyber security major and SoCon Pinnacle Award recipient was one of four Camels to earn All-SoCon honors, and was twice named the league's wrestler of the week, ranking as high as No. 12 in the individual polls.

Campbell claimed its third straight SoCon regular season and tournament championships in 2021, going 8-1 overall and a perfect 7-0 in conference duals. The Camels extended their SoCon dual win streak to 16 in the process, going unbeaten through its league slate for the second straight season.

Ranked as high as No. 22 in the NCWA team poll and No. 19 by InterMat, a school record seven Camels qualified for the NCAA Championships in St. Louis, Mo., while first year head coach Scotti Sentes was named national Rookie Head Coach of the Year (Amateur Wrestling News), as well as SoCon Coach of the Year.
