BOONE, N.C. - No. 24 Campbell's nine-game road trip continues this weekend with a three-game series at App State. All three games are scheduled to be streamed on ESPN+.

Series History
The Camels and Mountaineers have met 15 times with Campbell holding a 10-5 edge in the series. The two clubs met for the season opening weekend last season with App taking two of three. Campbell shut out App 9-0 on Opening Day with a season-high 18 strikeouts for CU pitching in the game. App responded by taking the next two games 5-1 and 5-4. 

Know Your Opponent
The Mountaineers are off to a strong 8-3 start with series wins over Queens and NC A&T, and split a two-game series with Big South foe Gardner-Webb. App enters the weekend having dropped two in a row to GWU and Duke. 

App is led by Hayden Cross, who is batting .426 with six doubles so far on the year. Projected Friday night starter Xander Hamilton is 2-0 with a 3.94 ERA in three starts on the season. Hamilton struck out 10 across 6.1 shutout innings against Campbell a season ago. 

The 'Neers are led by seventh year head coach Kermit Smith. They were picked to finish 12th in the Sun Belt preseason poll. 

Last Time Out
Campbell scored 30 runs across a pair of midweek wins at Tulane. The Camels topped the Green Wave 17-7 on Tuesday and 13-11 on Wednesday. Both games featured the Camels holding big leads, but struggling to get the final few outs, allowing five in the ninth on Tuesday and six across the eighth and ninth on Wednesday. 

Campbell used the long ball five times on Wednesday, a new season high. Bryce Arnold led the way with two blasts and five RBI.
