Taylah Ellems was named to the Big South Conference all-freshman team and will be competing in her first NCAA regional for the Campbell women's golf team Monday in the opening round at Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh. A native of Australia, Ellems shared some insight into how she started playing golf and her career on and off the course.
How did you get started in golf?
I broke my arm as a kid and when it healed my dad took me out to a junior clinic and I never looked back.
What attracted me most about Campbell in the recruiting process
I had friends that had been to Campbell and absolutely loved it. They said it felt like the closest place to home and that sense of community was so important to me.
Favorite golfer of all time
I admire Karrie Webb so much. I think she was such an influential golfer.
