Camels compete at Dick Taylor Challenge

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Three Camels place first in track and field events at the Dick Taylor Challenge. Lakelyn Bass breaks school record in pole vault.

IN THE FIELD
Lakelyn Bass placed first in the women's pole vault with a mark of 3.85m, which broke the school record. C.J. McBride placed first in the men's triple jump with a mark of 15.60m and Carson Key placed fourth with a mark of 13.76m. Autumn Judd placed fourth in the women's weight throw with a mark of 16.36m, which was also a personal record for her. Kaleb Johnson placed fourth in the men's high jump with a mark of 1.95m. Omare McBride placed fourth in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.30m.

ON THE TRACK
In the women's 60m, Aaliyah Harris placed first with a time of 7.61, which was a personal record for her. Aaliyah Brown-Muhammad placed second with a time of 7.66, also a personal record, and Ziyah Etchison placed third with a time of 7.67.

Jorge Becerra placed second in the men's 1000m with a time of 2:36.76, with Robert Wetherholt placing third with a time of 2:39.83 and William Sanchez placing fourth with a time of 2:40.75.

The Camels will be heading to the Camel City Invitational on January 26-27 in Winston-Salem, N.C., and the Bob Pollock Invitational in Clemson, S.C. on January 27-28.
