Campbell got off to a slow start in a 23-25 first-set defeat. Campbell hit just .174 in the opener. Campbell held off three set points to get within one, but couldn't complete the comeback and came up just short.

The Camels evened the score with a 25-18 second set. The Camels served six aces in the second set, three of those coming from Olivia Miller.

The third set was shaping up to be tight before Campbell reeled off a 9-0 run to close it out and grab the set 25-14. CU notched only two kills in the run, as Hampton committed five errors and Gwen Wolkow served three aces.

The fourth set was Campbell's highest scoring of the season, a 29-31 defeat to force a fifth set. The last two-point lead came at 16-14, with the teams trading points and one-point leads the rest of the way. The Camels had four match points in the frame but never took advantage of those opportunities.

It didn't look good early for the Camels in the short fifth set trailing 5-0. But Campbell stayed calm and quickly climbed right back into things with a 7-6 lead. It was back and forth from there before Campbell found itself facing a pair of Hampton match points. This time the Camels held them off and scored three straight, courtesy of two kills from Wolkow and another from Lambers to finish the job and win the set 17-15.

Miller got her first career start as the libero and had posted a solid line with 18 digs, six assists, and five aces. Gwen Wolkow turned in a double-double with a team-high 18 kills and 13 digs. Both setters, Maddie Converse and Ashley Artura, handed out 25 assists.

The teams return to action tomorrow night at 6 p.m. for the series finale. That match will once again be streamed on FloCollege.
