Camels top UNCW in four sets

Box Score BUIES CREEK - The Camels started the weekend with a 3-1 win over UNCW Friday night in Gore Arena.

The win takes Campbell to 6-17, 4-9. UNCW drops to 6-14, 3-10 with the loss.

Gwen Wolkow led the way for the Camels with 16 kills on .371 hitting. Victoria Tupy joined her in double figures with 12 kills. Riley Dean was active on defense with 19 kills on the night.

Campbell came out hot with two quick wins to start the night. The Camels were hitting .302 as a team through two sets, while UNCW was held to -.074. Campbell grabbed the opening set 25-16, and the second set 25-13.

UNCW got one back in the third to avoid the sweep, downing Campbell 25-16 in the frame. 

The Camels completed the four-set win with a 25-19 final set. While Campbell has struggled to close sets this season, they made no mistake and finished with a 4-1 run thanks to three kills and an ace. 

Campbell returns to action tomorrow for the series finale with the Seahawks. First-serve is set for 3 p.m. and will be broadcast on FloVolleyball.
