Five Camels qualify for NCAA Championships

BUIES CREEK - Five Camels across three individual events and one relay team qualified for the NCAA Championships to be held in Eugene, Ore. June 5-8. Two program records were downed Friday during the men's quarterfinals as well.

The men's 4x400 team shattered the program record, beating the old mark by six seconds with a blazing 3:01.91. The time is also good for a CAA record. The squad featured Jamel Miller, De'Shawn Ballard, Dominique Alexander, and Jamal Miller. The relay finished fourth at NCAA East Prelims, behind only Alabama, Florida, and LSU.

Miller, Miller, and Alexander will be part of a relay team at national's for a second consecutive year after running the 4x100 in Austin last season.

Jamel Miller set a new personal best and program record in the men's 400m with a 45.47. The time was good for seventh in the field to send him to Euguene.

Jamal Miller joins his brother at nationals in an individual event after running a 10.15 in 100m. Miller finished third in his heat and 12th overall to secure his spot at nationals.

C.J. McBride will be Campbell's only field athlete at the NCAA Championships after tying for first in the high jump at the East Prelims. He cleared 2.17m.
