McBride earns All-America honors at NCAA Nationals

EUGENE, ORE. - C.J. McBride earned second-team all-America honors with a 10th-place finish in the men's high jump at the NCAA National Championships at Heyward Field.

McBride, already with a decorated career, made his nationals debut Friday night. He cleared a mark of 2.17m (7-1½) to lock in his 10th place finish. 

McBride joins Jamel Miller as Campbell individuals as second-team all-Americans. With the 4x400 relay team earning the same honors, all five individuals that competed in Eugene bring home a second-team all-America honor. 

The Apex, N.C. native was the only field athlete from the CAA to compete at nationals and the first in the high jump from the conference since 2005. He also grabbed the highest finish in the event for the CAA since 1991.
