CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Multiple Camels placed in top five spots in track and field events at the Dick Taylor Challenge. Emily Pierce broke the school record for the women's 1000m. 
 
ON THE TRACK
In the women's 1000m Emily Pierce placed sixth overall (second in heat two) with a time of 3:00.00, which broke the school record. Emelyn Lacour placed first in heat three and 13th overall with a time of 3:06.08, and Claire Hartigan placed third in heat three and 18th overall with a time of 3:10.67. 

Mehki Dupree placed second overall with a time of 6.84 in the men's 60m. In the men's 500m Robert Wetherholt placed fifth overall (first in heat five) with a time of 1:06.61, followed by Elias Morris who was ninth overall (fifth in heat five) with a time of 1:08.24) and Omari Bennett who was 16th overall (third in heat four) with a time of 1:13.40. 

In the men's 1000m Andrew Barrett placed third overall (first in heat two) with a time of 2:38.51, followed by Craig Costa who was fifth overall (third in heat two) with a time of 2:40.53 and William Sanchez who was eighth overall (fifth in heat two) with a time of 2:42.52. In the men's one mile Hudson Hayes placed first in heat three (15th overall) with a time of 4:34.97, followed by Logan Ades who placed second in heat three (17th overall) with a time of 4:38.99 and Spencer Thompson who placed third in heat three (19th overall) with a time of 4:45.61. 

IN THE FIELD
Autumn Judd placed third in the women's shot put with a mark of 13.50m, and fifth in the women's weight throw with a mark of 16.11m.

Reagan Wise placed fourth for the men's pole vault with a mark of 4.75m, followed by Jacob Carroll placing seventh with a mark of 4.15m.

The Camels will be heading to the Brant Tolsma Invitational on January 24-25 in Lynchburg, Va.
