Heytvelt tabbed CAA Defensive Player of the Week

BUIES CREEK - Hailey Heytvelt was tabbed CAA Co-Player of the Week for her performance in Campbell's weekend sweep at Stony Brook. It's the first weekly award of the sophomore's career.

Heyvelt controlled the net at Stony Brook, coming up with 13 blocks during the weekend. The middle blocker had seven blocks in Friday's five-set win, one shy of her career high. She followed up with six blocks in four sets Saturday. Her big defensive weekend pushed her over 1.00 blocks per set on the season at 1.02, good for fourth now in the CAA.

Heytvelt was just as good on offense, with 16 kills on .552 hitting for the weekend, going without an error on 29 swings across the two matches.

The Camels have now earned five weekly awards this season, with Wolkow grabbing three and Maja Daca also earning one. It's the first Defensive Player of the Week award of the season for the Camels, and the first since Claranne Fechter earned it in 2023.

Campbell is back in action at home this weekend against Elon. First serve Friday is set for 6pm, with Saturday beginning at 3pm.
