BUIES CREEK, N.C. – For the second time this season, freshman guard Jasmine Nivar earned the CAA Rookie of the Week award, the conference announced Monday afternoon. She is the first CAA player this season to win multiple conference weekly awards.
 
Nivar recorded her first career double-double, scoring 13 points and adding a career-high 10 rebounds in a 67-51 win over Grambling State on Saturday in Chicago. She also added three assists, one block and a career-high four steals.
 
On Friday against Northern Colorado, the Apex native recorded 10 points to go along with four rebounds and four assists while also going 5-for-5 at the free throw line in the fourth quarter.
 
Nivar was named to the WellNow Blue Demon Classic All-Tournament Team for her performance over the weekend.
 
Nivar and the rest of the Camels are back on the court this weekend to take part in the Osprey Thanksgiving Classic, hosted by the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla. The team will play North Dakota State on Friday and North Florida on Saturday.
