LYNCHBURG, Va. — Emily Pierce set a new program record in the women's 1000m as Campbell track & field competed at the Liberty Open on Friday at Liberty Indoor Track Complex.
ON THE TRACK
Emily Pierce set a new program record in the women's 1000m with a time of 2:54.67 to finish second in the event. She surpasses
Emelyn Lacour who previously set the record last weekend at the Mondo College Invitational with a time of 2:56.99.
Isaiah Martine finished seventh in the men's 3000m invite with a time of 8:33.96 and moves into ninth all-time in program history.
In his Campbell debut,
Bryce Lofton finished third in the 60m finals with a time of 6.82 tying for ninth in program history. He qualified for the final with a time of 6.88.
Daniel Griffith set a personal best in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.72.
Mario Cantarero (1:57.70) finished 12th in the 800m just in front of
Jorge Becerra (1:58.63) who finished 17th.
Delaney Horton posted a season best in the 800m with a time of 2:25.07 to finish 19th in the event. She posted a 5:22.59 in the mile to finish 21st in the event.
Spencer Thompson and
Jake Stanley set new personal records in the men's 1 mile with times of 4:30.42 and 4:51.65, respectively. Cantarero clocked in with a time of 4:21.65 in the men's 1 mile to finish top-15.
Lacour set a personal record in the women's 3000m finishing 13th in the event with a time of 10:19.78.
IN THE FIELD
Isabella Bernard finished second in the women's pole vault with a mark of 3.16m.
Jacob Carroll and
Aedan Sampey finished sixth and 11th in the men's pole vault.
