BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell will welcome Southern Conference foe The Citadel, as well as No. 5 North Carolina State to the Pope Convocation Center/Gore Arena on Sunday, January 23.
The Camels will square off with the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m., following with the fifth-ranked Wolfpack.
No spectators will be permitted at the match, with all Campbell Athletic events closed through January 25, per
CU Health and Safety Task Force policy.
Both matches will be broadcast, with the matchup against The Citadel live on ESPN+, and the nightcap against NC State though YouTube on Fanco Wrestling. For watch and live results links, head to

Campbell heads into the weekend at 6-3 overall and 1-0 in SoCon matches. The Camels are coming off a 2-1 showing at the
Chippewa Challenge. CU outscored American and CSU Bakersfield by a combined 58-18 score, topping the Eagles 28-9 before defeating the Roadrunners 30-9, totaling for seven bonus point victories. Central Michigan, now ranked No. 25 in the country, edged out Campbell 19-15 in the day's finale to earn the event title, sweeping all three duals.
The NCAA released its
first coaches' rankings of the 2021-22 season on Friday, featuring five Campbell wrestlers. Among the Camels ranked are No. 29
Korbin Meink at 125 pounds, No. 7
Josh Heil at 149, No. 24
Austin Murphy at 174, No. 29
Caleb Hopkins at 184 and No. 24
Taye Ghadiali at heavyweight.
The group has combined for nine NCAA tournament appearances, led by Heil, a four-time qualifier.
Heil is 8-0 on the season with five wins over ranked opponents, also claiming the 149 pound division at the Matmen Open. Ghadiali is 11-2 overall, leading the Camels in total wins and adding a tournament title at the Wolfpack Open.
Meink (9-2), Murphy (6-2) and Hopkins (8-3), meanwhile, were three of four Camels to go 3-0 at last Sunday's Chippewa Challenge.
The Citadel is 2-2 on the season and 1-0 in SoCon bouts, topping Presbyterian 42-3. Sunday will mark the Bulldogs' first action since the Southern Scuffle on January 1-2. Campbell has won its last six meetings with The Citadel, including
last season's matchup, 34-7.
The fifth-ranked Wolfpack is 6-1 on the year, with their only loss coming narrowly against No. 1 Iowa, 19-15 in December. The meeting will be the first in a dual setting for the Camels and Wolfpack since 2014.
Next up, Campbell will be back in Buies Creek on January 30, taking on a trio of SoCon opponents, including Chattanooga, VMI, as well as Presbyterian.
