Camels host UNCW in CAA opener

BUIES CREEK - Campbell begins its CAA regular season title defense this weekend with the league opener against UNCW. Both weekend matches will be streaming on FloCollege.

Series History
Campbell is 21-36 all-time against UNCW, and 4-2 since becoming league foes. Campbell swept last year's meetings in Wilmington with a five-set win and a three-set win.

The sides split the meetings the last time they met in Buies Creek two seasons ago.

Last Time Out
The Camels went 1-2 at the No Quarter Invitational, earning a reverse sweep win over Old Dominion.

Emma McCartney was named to the all-tournament team, leading the Camels with 45 digs across the three matches. McCartney now sits second in the CAA with 3.79 kills/set.

Scouting The Seahawks
The Seahawks went 5-7 in non-conference play and are coming off a win over NC Central in the final non-conference match. UNCW leads the CAA and ranks 31st nationally in service aces with 86.

The Seahawks are led by setter Gabby Zovko, one of only 14 players to log a triple double this season, when she posted 10 kills, 29 assists, and 12 digs against Kennesaw State.

UNCW is led by Lo Hoyer in her second year at the helm.

Looking Ahead
Campbell heads to Long Island for a championshipship rematch at Hofstra. The Camels and Pride did not meet in the regular season last year and shared the regular season crown, before Campbell earned a five-set win to take the CAA championship.
