A two-sport standout, Marion Hargrove was inducted into the Campbell Athletics Hall of Fame on Oct. 1, 1994.  He attended Campbell from 1954-56 and earned his Associate’s degree.  He led the basketball team in rebounding both seasons and was an all-district and all-tournament performer in 1956. 
 
On the diamond, Hargrove was an all-district catcher in 1956.  Following graduation, he went on to Elon College where he was an all-conference and all-district baseball selection.  He earned graduate degrees in guidance and administration from the University of Virginia.
 
For 31 years, Hargrove was an educator in the Bedford (Va.) County Schools.  He held numerous offices including membership on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Elementary Principals Association and serving as president of the Virginia Association of Supervision Curriculum Development.
