Four-time national wrestling championships qualifier Rob Cole was inducted into the Campbell Athletics Hall of Fame on Oct. 6, 1990.  He lettered in three sports, but made his greatest impact on the mat, where he reached the NAIA National Wrestling Tournament each year from 1971-75.

A native of Sydney, N.Y., Cole was a four-time NAIA Region 4 champion and three-time District 8 winner.  He finished his career with a 108-8 won-lost record under the direction of Coach Gerald Brown.

In addition, Cole was a starting halfback on Coach Jim “Catfish” Cole’s soccer team from ’72-74 and helped Campbell win a district title as a senior.  He also ran cross country for one season.

A Dean’s List student, Cole graduated with a B.S. in physical education and health with a minor in science.  He moved into the coaching ranks at Stephen Decatur High School in Berlin, Md., from 1981-85 where at least one of his wrestlers earned a state tournament berth each season.

For nearly 30 years, he served as owner and general manager of Ocean Foods in Ocean City, Md., and since 2007 has served as general manager of Lawn Doctor.
